Aligre

Aligre is a contemporary revival of Fleischman Antiqua, with a particular emphasis on the curves and decorative elements of Joan Fleischman’s work.

Fleischman’s surname means butcher and mine (Boulanger) means baker, so the typeface is named after the Aligre Market in Paris. This inspired the feel of the specimen elements, which reference antique Parisian shop signs and newspapers.
